Buy a US eSIM with Bitcoin over Lightning

Zap eSIM is built around Bitcoin's Lightning Network. Tap a plan, scan the invoice with any Lightning wallet, and your US eSIM is on your order page as soon as the payment confirms. No card, no account, no ID.

How paying with Lightning works

  1. Tap Pay with Lightning on a plan. The invoice QR appears.
  2. Scan it with your wallet, or tap Open in wallet on your phone.
  3. Your eSIM appears on your order page. Tap Install eSIM or scan the QR.

Wallets that work

Any wallet that can pay a Lightning invoice, for example Phoenix, Wallet of Satoshi, Strike, Cash App or Breez.

Prices in dollars, paid in sats

Prices are set in US dollars. The sats amount comes from the live BTC/USD rate when your invoice is created and is locked for that invoice, which expires after 15 minutes. Don't pay an expired invoice.

Other crypto?

Bitcoin over Lightning only. We don't accept other coins or stablecoins, and on-chain bitcoin isn't offered at checkout right now.

Only have cash? Buy bitcoin first

  1. Install a Lightning wallet (for example Phoenix, Wallet of Satoshi or Breez).
  2. Turn cash into bitcoin at a Bitcoin ATM, or buy in person from someone you trust, for example at a local Bitcoin meetup. ATMs charge high fees and often ask for a phone number or ID above small amounts, so check first.
  3. Send the bitcoin to your Lightning wallet (many wallets convert it for you, for a fee).
  4. Pay your Zap eSIM invoice.

We don't accept cash, cash by mail or other coins. Follow your local laws.

Refunds

Strike, our payment processor, doesn't support bitcoin refunds, and Lightning payments are final. Approved refunds (for eSIMs not yet installed, where our supplier allows it) are paid as store credit or, case by case, as a Lightning payment to an invoice you send us. See our refund policy.

Plans

Network: Verizon and AT&T in the US (multi-network, 5G/LTE where available). Prices are set server-side in US dollars and charged in sats.
